Comment: The Room was clean and very nice. Fresh towels and bed was turned daily. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Hot and Cold Buffet Breakfast available. Very Affordable at Euro 35 per night (i got the promo) - Euro 40 regular price per night. Free wifi ... strong signals, routers for every floor. About 10 to 15 minutes from the Airport. Restaurant on the first floor. Will definitely stay there again when I am in Sofia.

Comment: Our room at the Brod was clean, functional and pleasantly scented. The free broadband internet in the room was a major advantage, as a work situation developed on the second day of my stay, and would have been much more difficult to resolve without this technical edge.
The Brod is an appealing option for those wishing to visit Sofia without spending a fortune on accomodation.

Located in a very quiet suburb near several embassy residences, it is a good 15 minutes to city centre even when traffic is smooth. That said, until inflation drives Bulgarian taxi costs up to the level of other European capitals, the distance will not be a problem and you'll not spend more than 4 or 5 Euros each way to and from the Brod. Just get an OK Taxi leaflet from the airport and always remember to have someone phone a taxi for you from the hotel, or from restaurants or other locations in the centre.
The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of hot and cold options as well as some local specialties; only rough moment was when a party in the restaurant became rowdy and the music could be heard very clearly even 4 floors up.

Comment: We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The hotel staff spoke English and were polite. Our room was a little dark, but clean and nice. Before we went to Bulgaria, we read a lot about horrible breakfast food being served at various hotels. We stayed at 5 different hotels all with different star ratings and the difference between a good breakfast and a bad breakfast was whether or not the hotel served hot food (i.e. fried eggs, sausage, bacon, etc.).

The Brod Hotel had hot food! You won't find an American breakfast anywhere in Bulgaria. Make sure you get to the buffet early during the weekend since the fried eggs, sausage & bacon go fast! The only dislike about this hotel was the 10 minute cab ride needed to get to the city center of Sofia. Definitely not a walkable distance. It came out to 7-14 lev each trip depending on the time of day. It's better to ask the concierge to call a cab for you and they usually come in 5-10 minutes.

Comment: I stayed at Hotel Brod in December 2004 and January 2005.
A short Taxi ride from Sofia Airport the Hotel is excellent value for money.
Very clean rooms and really helpfull staff.
I would reccomend this as a hotel base in Sofia.

Comment: Hotel Brod is a family run hotel, a short taxi ride (20 mins) from the centre of Sofia. The rooms are very clean, well maintained and comfortable.The staff are helpful and friendly. The restaurant and bar offer a good selection of food and drinks. I have stayed at Hotel Brod on four different occasions in the last year and the service has been consistently good on each visit. Overall, the Hotel offers excellent value for money.
