40 New Hotels from Vlas to Sinemorets

Some 40 new hotels are slated to open doors in Summer Season 2005 at the southern Black Sea coast, from St. Vlas to Sinemorets resorts. In Sunny Beach seaside resort alone, the construction of 6 new hotels is expected to be completed in a several days time, with Majestic, Meridian and Imperial among others. Holiday-makers from Austria and Germany are the first to be accommodated at these hotels in early June. A total of some 100 million euros has been invested in the 6 hotels, said Elena Ivanova, Chairperson of the Union of Sunny Beach Private Owners. The rumour has it that Imperial is her property. Meridian is said to belong to entrepreneur Plamen Kopchev, and that Puldin Holiday have a share in Majestic with its 1,000 accommodations. With the new ones, the hotels in the resort hit 130 in number and the accommodations, 50,000. In this way, Sunny Beach seaside resort has the capacity to accommodate at a time the entire town of Montana. Construction works in the coastal resort will be frozen as of May 15th. Primorsko seaside resort will welcome holiday-makers with 10 new hotels this season. Sozopol reports the same achievements. The investments in the two resorts total some 40 million euros. At present, 23 villas are under construction in the immediate vicinity of Sozopol with investments totaling 1.5 million levs. Two holiday villages are also under construction there worth 500,000 levs. In Primorsko, the construction of a giant golf course is about to start any moment now on 1,000 decares. The investor is a London-based company, willing to invest 10 million euros in the golf complex. see source
