A Huge Cross to be Erected Near Vanga's Church in Rupite
Standart Daily, 10.07.2009
A monumental stone cross will be made on the occasion of the 15 anniversary of sanctifying Vanga's church in Rupite region near the town of Petrich (southwest Bulgaria). Vanga was an eminent Bulgarian clairvoyant. She provided the means and fulfilled her wish - a church to be raised by her home in Rupite. The sculptor Ivan Russev has already started working on the Christian symbol. The 40-m high and 30-m wide cross will be erected across the St. Petka Church in Rupite. The cross will be sanctified. It would not be placed high in the mountain but people will have to walk to it as once Jesus walked to Golgotha. The cross should be ready for the church’s patron saint day on October 14. This year 15th anniversary of inaugurating the church will be celebrated.
