Archaeological museum in Plovdiv city has been opened after it had been fully reconstructed. The museum has remained closed for 17 years and his reconstruction absorbed 1,5 M EUR. Some Bulgarian treasures will be housed in the museum and therefore special security measures will be adopted.
One will be stunned at the fully reconstructed hall which houses the biggest treasures. At the present time, Panagyurishte gold treasure, as well as silver and gold jewelleries are stored in museums in Sofia city. It is has been announced that Plovdiv’s museum will exhibit Thracian treasure from Duvanli. As far as Panagyurishte gold treasure is concerned, there is a museum with multimedia hall in Panagyurishte where the latest replica of Thracian golden dishes is exhibited. Nine will be the exhibition halls in Plovdiv Archaeological museum as 8 of them will put on display permanent exhibitions. 5 000 valuable historic and cutltural objects will be housed in the museum.
