Berkovitsa can expand the ski area

There is a good ski season in Berkovitsa under the Kom Peak. Huts, located under the peak, are fully booked. Many skiers enjoy the great ski conditions on the ski tracks and all facilities are into operation.
According to Krasimir Statkov, the chairman of the tourism association in Berkovitsa, the town has all the prerequisites to quickly become a perfect winter resort. The construction of extra 10km ski runs, ski facilities and the equipment with artificial snow making machines can contribute to this.
Currently the length of the ski track under Kom peak is only 1km, however, the area can be further expanded. There are projects for the fulfillment of the idea, but they are on hold due to financial difficulties. If the project is being realized, the huts will manage to work in full during the winter and huts will be fully occupied.
