Bulgaria's Economy Ministry to rekindle interest in tourism via two million leva campaign

>Bulgaria is to invest about 2.1 million leva in a large-scale campaign, for the second time in the past two years, to encourage domestic tourism among Bulgarians, Deputy Economy Minister Ivo Marinov said. Funds for the initiative will be provided under the five million euro Regional Development programme of the European Union.
The remaining three million euro will be channelled into the roll-out of another campaign, likely to be introduced next year, he said. The contract for the campaign has been awarded to the Provinent Business Group Partners 3 consortium, comprised of four firms, including OM Sofia, part of advertising agency Ogilvy, 24/7 Entertainment, Metropolis Group and Reforma Advertising. The initiative will be popularised by radiо, TV, newspaper and outdoor advertisements. The campaign, which will be also presented on 11 websites, aims to reach an audience of two million TV viewers, two million radio listeners, 200 000 readers and two million internet users.
