Bulgaria has great potential to develop ornithology tourism

The unique geographic location and natural resources make Bulgaria one of the countries that possess a great potential to develop ornithology tourism. One can see in the country 420 out of 800 bird species in whole Europe. People whose passion is bird-watching know that the best sites in Bulgaria are along the Black sea coast and the gorgeous Rhodope mountain. Unfortunately, Bulgaria has not adopted traditions in this field.
Interesting bird species can be seen near water basins, along the coast and big dams during the autumn and winter months. The respective places for bird-watching are chosen on a variety of factors. For instance, a place is chosen depending on whether certain species will be chased or visitors would like to observe the maximum number of bird species. The latter is also known as “lazy” birdwatching.
Bulgaria offers many possibilities for the observation of the maximum number of species within a relatively short period. For example, 32 of the extinct and most endangered bird species can be seen in Bulgaria. One can see 7 species in Belgium and 8 in Switzerland.
According to experts, tourists who usually search for birdwatching tours are mainly people with a set budget. Also, such types of tours are preferred by the British, Dutch, German, Swiss, US, Belgian and Japanese tourists.
