Bulgaria’s capital city- Sofia expects 1.8 million BGN tourism income in 2010

Sofia municipality expects 1.8 million BGN revenue from tourism in 2010, reported Sofia’s mayor Yordanka Fandakova.
The tourism income in 2009 was estimated at 1.46 million BGN.Sofia municipality plans to invest 100 000 BGN in a new tourism information center in 2010. The center will be centrally located in the subway of Sofia University and will should start functioning in the end of February 2010.
A new brochure, presenting opportunities for religious tourism, has been issued as well. As many tourists may know, Sofia city is popular for the great number of monasteries which are located in Sofia’s area.
Sofia’s mayor said that the municipality has put much efforts in the development of Sofia’s archaeological landmarks which are rather attractive for every visitor.
