Bulgaria’s neighbours to enjoy skiing resorts

Bulgaria’s winter resorts will see more tourists from the area this winter season. It is expected that many tourists from Romania, Turkey, Serbia and Macedonia will show great interest in Bulgaria’s winter resorts.
It is expected that the opening of the border Zlatograd-Termes /Greece/ will boost the tourist flow to Pamporovo skiing resort. Experts believe that Turkish tourists will have their skiing holidays in Bulgaria due to the favourable location and mild climate of the country.
The chairman of Pamporovo Counsel reported that Pamporovo ski tracks complies with world standards. All of them underwent examinations and it is expected that the respective International quality certificate will be issued in the near future. 40 million BGN has been invested in Pamporovo so far. 13 million BGN was spent on the preparation of the winter season 2009/2010. Funds were allocated for new artificial snow making facilities and currently 142 of them are into operation.
