Bulgaria's Pleven Hosts Seventh International Apiculture Fair

The Northern Bulgarian city of Pleven hosted the Seventh international fair, "Apiculture-Pleven 2009", which took place in the Iliya Beshkov Art Gallery on February 13-15, BGNES reported. Over 3 500 bee-keepers and over a hundred companies and organizations from Europe and Asia took part in the fair. For the first time there were representatives of Indian companies for bee-keeping equipment. The organizer of the fair is "Partners Expo" Ltd. in cooperation with the Regional Apiculture Organization - Pleven, and all of the bee branch associations in Bulgaria. The "Bee and Hive" and "Bees" newspapers, and the "Ecology 21" magazine were among the media partners. The guests of the fair had the chance to see the latest products in the field of bee-keeping - veterinary medicines, honey goods - cosmetics, beverages, specialized literature and much more. The main attraction of the fair was the thermal beehive, a product of the Turkish company "Yildirim Plastik ", which took the "Wing of Success" award for its Apimaye beehive. The award for innovative product was given to Stoyanka Petkova for her propolis cosmetics products, and the one for label of the year went to Nikolai Karakolev. The prize "Investment of the Year" went to "Bee" Ltd., village of Straja, Targovishte District.
