Bulgaria Takes Part in Belgium Tourism Expo

Bulgaria will take part in the tourism expo Salon des Vacances held in Brussels from February 8 to 12, State Agency for Tourism (SAT) said. The expo is the most significant Belgian tourism event, directed to the mass public, Focus news agency reported. As many as 120 000 visitors came to the expo in 2006 and their number is expected to increase by seven per cent in 2007. The number of exhibitors increased by 18 per cent. Bulgaria presented itself for the seventh time at the exhibition making use of 32 sq m area. Belgians are most interested in vacations at the Black Sea coast. Interest in balneotherapy, cultural and mountain tourism comes next. Another interesting product for Belgians is the Danube River tour. The exhibition is an appropriate advertising tool for Bulgaria as most Belgians take decision for a destination in this period of the year, SAT said. The interest in Bulgaria will be higher this year in the context of the country's EU accession. Belgium is among the traditional markets of Bulgarian tourism products. Nearly 32 140 tourists from Belgium visited Bulgaria in 2006. See source
