Six Bulgarian hotels awarded

Travel Daily News, 24.11.2004

Six hotels in Bulgarian sea resorts have been awarded for best hotels along the Bulgarian Black sea coastline for the previous summer season by tourists of British tour operator Thomson (part of TUI) and Thomas Cook-Germany, representations of the companies in Bulgaria announced for Dnevnik newspaper. Thomson has brought tourists to the country for the first time this season. Tour operators chose RIU Arabela in Golden Sands and RIU Helena Sands in Sunny Beach (part of Helena Resorts complex) as best and awarded them with gold medals. The international RUI hotel chain manages the two bases. Thomas Cook-Germany awards the prize Neckermann Primo. Riviera Beach hotel in Riviera holiday village has received it for a second time. Iberostar Obzor-Izgrev in Golden Sands and Iberostar Tiara Beach and Club Bor in Sunny Beach also received the prestigious award, Hristo Kolev, representative of Thomas Cook to Bulgaria and manager of Elite Tours stated. The first two bases are part of the international Iberostar hotel chain. The golden medals are awarded each year to the 100 best hotels worldwide where tourists who organized their holidays by Thomson and Thomas Cook-Germany stayed. Hotels are rated according to tourists’ poll forms and their comments. The services at the hotel, the quality of food, hygiene, the politeness of personnel, the sports and animation program offered and the resort as a whole are also evaluated. According to Tanya Tsvetanova, executive director of Hotel Manager Company (owner of RIU Arabela hotel) stated that the prize reflects the efforts of the whole team and their efforts to satisfy preferences and expectations of the new market segment. This acknowledgement is extremely important for both Golden Sands and Varna as tourist destinations. This proves that Bulgarian hotels can compete in quality and service with foreign hotels. I hope more hotels to be awarded the prize so as Bulgaria to build and maintain a positive image of Bulgarian tourism, its quality and competitiveness, Tsvetanova stated. In September experts from the British Research Center nominated in a report RIU Arabela hotel as the best all-inclusive hotel along the Bulgarian Black sea coastline. see source
