Bulgarian ski resorts to reduce prices

Anita Valentinova, source: profit.bg, 03.01.2009

Skiers enjoy wonderful weather conditions. Daily pass cards for the big ski zones in Bulgaria range from 17€ (35 BGN) to 27€ (55 BGN). Bulgaria’s winter resorts reduce prices especially in weekends. All big ski resorts have already included in the price of the cards, the tickets and mountain insurance, which covers all expenses in case of accident in the mountain. According to the price list of the mountain rescue service, if you had an accident on the ski slopes and you contact the Mountain Rescue Agency, you have to pay about 200€ (400 BGN) and all transport expenses. This year’s prices of ski facilities are not much more expensive than the past year, but they are different in categories. For example, Borovets will not have ticket price for cabin lift anymore. If you want to use it, you have to buy a card for all facilities in the complex. It is 27€ (55 BGN) in weekdays, whereas in weekends is 17€ (35 BGN). The price for adults is 17 € (35 BGN) per day in Vitosha Mountain. The ski track “Vitoshko lale 1” offers night skiing also this year and the price is not changed, it is still 10€ (20 BGN). Daily pass in Pamporovo costs 25€ (50 BGN). Prices of daily ski pass fall in weekends, 16€ (33 BGN) for adult per day and 8€ (16 BGN) half-day. All Bulgarian ski resorts make discounts from 10% to 20% in case you use rental ski or snowboard equipment.
