Bulgarian Spa US Tourists
Sofia News Agency, 14.11.2004
Seven Bulgarian hotels teamed up to establish the SPA Tourism Association and hit the European and US markets with spa treatments designed to soak away stress. The Association members, which are required to be at least four-star hotels, are set to draw up a spa tourism standard and present it for approval to the State Tourism Agency. The ambitious plan envisages programs for tourists from European countries and the United States to relax, be pampered, and take time away from the tension and stress of everyday life. More than twenty US tourism agents have already conducted studies in Bulgarian resorts to come up with offers to their clients. The most often cited complaints are limited access to credit cards, wretched roads, and pickpockets. Among the founders of the Association are Royal Holidays, Murgavets, Strimon-Club, Devin, Hisar, Medite, Rich. see source
