easyJet tests mobile boarding passes
The leading European airline easyJet has announced that it has started testing mobile board passes for its passengers. The tests include the flights at 6 airports. Passengers from these 6 airports will be able to check in and download the boarding pass for their flight by using the app directly on their smartphone and for less than 10 seconds. The application which is simple and convenient to use shows the status of the passenger as checked and non-checked in. After the app is downloaded, the mobile boarding pass is saved offline so that it does not require network coverage, wi-fi or any roaming fares. The flight booking via the mobile app is available from 30 days to 2 hours before the flight departure date. Over 4.5 million people have downloaded the mobile app since 2011. The app is free and it allows the passengers to find prices and book their flights from their mobile phones. The app is available in 7 languages in Europe.
