Economy ministry to categorize ski runs, beaches

SKI RUNS in Bulgaria will be categorised blue, green or red. The highest class beaches will be branded A, followed by B and C category. Certificates will be issued within three months of opening of the categorisation procedure. These are some of the provisions of the ordinances on ski run and beach categorisation, which the ministry of economy has prepared for discussion by the cabinet. For the first time categorisation of ski runs and beaches in Bulgaria is made in compliance with the requirements of the Tourism Act. The ordinances will also lay the basis of the regulation of river, dam and lake banks. The ordinances will not apply to the beaches of swimming basins at hotels and restaurants. Ski runs and beaches will be categorised by the minister of economy at the proposal of an expert commission. The respective colour or letter will be assigned depending on the services offered and the level of implementation of security measures. see source
