Euro report ranked Bulgaria among the countries with the cleanest sea

Bulgaria ranks fifth among EU countries with sea waters in accordance with the standards for bathing, according to a summary report of the European Commission for the quality of bathing water in the EU for last year's summer season. Bulgaria follows Greece, Cyprus, France and Malta. According to the expert at the Ministry of Health, Dimitur Dimitrov, who is in charge of the health control, 90.3% of waters in Bulgaria are in compliance with EUR standards. The most serious issues with waters appear to be in the region of Varna. Only Bulgaria and Slovenia boast bathing waters in the inner part of the country that fully comply with the regulatory requirements, showed the report.
