European project will develop the rural regions near Chepelare

The local initative committee “Chepelare” won European project for the development of the rural areas near Chepelare. The project will be financed by the European agriculture fund as a part of the program for the development of rural regions in the period 2007-2013. The total value of the project is 186 251 BGN and it will be fulfilled within the next 20 months. The local strategy and initiative of the three municipalities Banite, Luki and Chepelare is also planned to be accomplished. The project will be realized for the territories of the abovementioned municipalities. The major goal of the project is to develop a long-term strategy for the development of the three municipalities. However, the mountainous town of Chepelare is the leader in the initiative. Thus, due to the help of the European project, the beautiful mountainous region will become even more attractive for tourists and investors. In conclusion, the quality of the tourist product will be improved and it will become more competitive.
