The foundations of an ancient building were discovered during excavation works of the ancient Roman settlement Martsianopolis near the town of Devnya. Excavations in the region have not been carried out over the past 20 years. Foundations of the old Roman building were discovered in the western part of the site and it is too early to draw any conclusions since further researches and explorations will take place.
Besides excavations at the site of the ancient Roman settlement, archaeologists have planned a course of initiatives as they believe that the place is suitable to help children to get acquainted with the historic and cultural heritage of Bulgaria.
