Four projects valuated at the total amount of approximately 14 000€ were approved for financing on the second part of the program “Development of alternative tourism by constructing tourist routes 2008-2009”.
The first one of them, called “ Rousse routes” foresees the construction of 55-km trace, passing thorough seven villages in the area of Rousse which will be connected with the European route Euro 6. The regional historical museum, youth organizations and many others will co-operate in order to fulfill the project. The work on it involves marking and promoting of the route by holding a number of seminars and meetings with local communities.
Bicycle path alongside the river Lom will be also constructed as a part of the project “Ecotourism with a bicycle by river Danube”. It will be promoted as a local tourist product.
The amendment of the tourist infrastructure of the route “Tutrakan Silistra” aims at the construction of a camping in the close proximity to the natural reserve “Srebarna”. It will be used as the only one place for spending a night among the intact nature in the immediate proximity to the route Tutrakan-Silistra. In this way, tourism opportunities in the near village Srebarna, which has recently proved its name as a popular tourist destination for a short break, bicycles’ marathons and birds’ observation, will be expanded.
