Growth in the number of tourists visited Smolyan this summer

Finished summer tourist season in the area of Smolyan was successful, as 5% is the growth in the number of tourists in comparison to summer 2007. This fact was announced by the Director of the Local Tourist Association “Rhodopes”, quoted by Radio Plovdiv.
Hotels in rural areas, where the tourist flow is much more rather than in the overbuilt resorts, were preferred tourist places for summer holiday in the mountain.
A growth of the number of tourists is reported in places with renowned natural phenomena such as Trigradskoto Jdrelo and Chudnite mostove, in addition, Zlatograd has begun to draw the attention of tourists as searched holiday destination.
Offers, combining tourist landmarks with opportunities for walking and extreme tourism, as well as horse riding, are the most searched. Hotel-keepers have realized that what sells tourist offer is not the accommodation, but available attractions.
The number of tourists, having visited the winter resort Pamporovo, has increased, because the construction work is less than the last summer.
The resort will open the winter season with a new 4-seat lift to the village of Stoikite.
New lift with the capacity of 2200 tourists per hour will work in Chepelare.
