Guest houses in Strandja with eco tourism certificates

Bulgarian southern mountain Strandja continues to develop “green image”

Owners of rural tourism guest houses, honey producers, farmers and entrepreneurs in the field of rural and eco tourism in Strandja were awarded with the certificates. Evaluation was based on several criteria such as ecological sustainability, contribution to nature preservation, respect for local culture and provision of good services. It is a certificate which guarantees the quality of the offered goods or services. The logo of the certificate was selected after a competition, which 84 proposal of 45 authors contended in.

The initiative for issuing Strandja certificates was taken by Bulgaria’s Biodiversity Foundation and the Kingdom of Monaco. The aim of this distinction is to differentiate the quality of services and in this way to help the development of tourism services related to the ecological image of magnificent Strandja Mountain.
