Two alleys, one for bicyclists and the other for pedestrians will connect
Archaeological reserve "Kabile" with
the monastery “Assumption of the Virgin Mary” near the village.
The existing road, leading to the temple will be widened and it will provide better buses access. The amount of 160 000 €, having been necessary for the re-construction, was funded through a project of Kabile Municipality under “Transborder cooperation” program.
The Mayor pointed out that Municipality’s efforts are directed to the transformation of the monastery into tourist object. It is hoped that the
monastery and
National Archaeological Reserve “Kabile” will become
tourist routes. The construction process should be finished in one year.

The
ancient settlement of
Kabile, a national archaeological reserve and a nature preserved site, being the most important
Thracian settlement in Bulgaria, is situated in the town Yambol. In modern study of ancient Thrace it has already been proved that
Kabile was the most prominent political, economic and religious centre from the first millennium BC. The archaeological investigations of the ancient city that have taken place in the last thirty years have revealed a great number of artefacts (stone inscriptions, coins, ceramic ware and remains of building activities) dating from times over a millennium long history. Most of the discovered artefacts have already been published and used as a data for archaeological and historical studies.
