Shoumen municipality will organize a series of events to mark 30 years since Madara Horseman was included in the list of the World Cultural and Historic landmarks.
Festivities will be organized under the patronage of Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev. They will take place on the 29th of May and 30th of May.
A scientific conference “30 years since the declaration of Madara Horseman as a world cultural and historic landmark” was opened in Shoumen by the Minister of Culture.
A historic conference will be held in the regional History Museum. The conservation and current condition of the early medieval large rock relief will be main topics of the discussion.
One of the heads of the forum, Prof. Todorov, announced that important writings have been written with regards to Madara Horseman and it is high time they were published.
Madara’s big cave will be the host of a Symphonic Orchestra concert on the 29th of May.
The municipality of Shumen will organize many festival events to mark the 30th anniversary of the Madara Horseman as a distinguished international historical site.
The folklore spectacle “A tale about the horseman” will entertain all guests of the event on the 30th of May.
