New Road Leads to Perpericon

The Sofia News Agency, 16.09.2006

As part of a program to bring Bulgaria's ancient Thracian sanctuary of Perperikon to new life, a new road now leads to the site. Tourists will be happy to find out that the once rocky path leading to the popular sanctuary has been paved and widened at last, allowing for easier access to the relics. Thousands have visited Perperikon, but with the new road even more will come and walk through the ancient remnants, archaeologists hope. A Discovery Channel team is now filming an exclusive on the sanctuary. See source
