Night of museums

The curious tourist will have the opportunity to take delight in the 5th “Night of museums” , an interesting event including many attractions, exhibitions, concerts and loads of surprises, which will take place on the 16th of May.
It is expected that museums in 47 countries will open doors in the 5th European night of museums. The initiative has begun in France and it is organized under the patronage of the general secretary of the European Council and UNESCO.
This year there is no special topic for the “ Night of museums”, having in mind that the word “night” itself is infinite theme, connecting all museums which take part in the event and thousands visitors.
The performances will begin at 6 o’clock pm on the 16th of May in the National Archaeological Museums. There two modern exhibitions, which are not typical for the museum, will be shown, namely pictures of Yulia Stankova and unique requisites, representing Bulgarian historical scenes.
Musical and dance performances will be included in the event.
A special attraction, a real surprise, will be the flying with a balloon in case the weather in Sofia is favourable for the initiative.
National Art Galley will present the program “Digital arts”. Exhibitions and various concerts will be held in all Sofia’s museums.
