According to UK company Post Office Travel Money, Bulgarian ski resort Bansko is top ski destination 2011 in terms of the ratio quality/price. This was reported by the company ‘Ski resort report 2011’’. The prices in Bansko have dropped by 5% in comparison with last year’s prices. The report includes information, regarding essential expenses of two tourists for their 6-day ski holiday. The expenses are mainly for ski equipment, ski lift passes, ski tutor, drinks and meals.

The amount is estimated at 263 GBP which is 100 GBP cheaper than the runner-up Arinsal /Andora/ . The Slovenian resort Bohin comes third in the ranking. Ten ski destinations, 8 European and 2 in USA, are included in the ranking. US ski venues are not suitable for cheap ski vacations. The most expensive ski resort is in Switzerland where 6-day ski package is at least 654 GBP. Other expensive ski venues are Italy, France and Austria. Post Office Travel Money reps comment that the price is the most crucial factor this year. Travellers mind the budget this year, so winter sports enthusiasts may choose between Bulgaria, Slovenia and Andorra.
