Rhodopes Mountain offers new tourism opportunities

A group of students and teachers from a Norwegian university worked on the development of tourism in the village Momchilovtsi in Rhodopes Mountain. After they have finished their researches, they proposed new specialized tourist products. The first product is designed for a target group of 8 to 13 years and is called "Discover the unique animal world in the Rhodopes. Activities include visits to the Museum of the Bear Trigrad, observations of animals, as well as walking routes in Devin. The other product of this group is called "Discover the underground secrets of the Rhodopes’. The main goal is to focus on adventure tourism and investigate the resources of the caves.
The cultural heritage of the Rhodopes Mountain will be presented by the product named ‘Reveal and keep the traditions of the Rhodopes’. As exemplary destinations, the team pointed out the Momchilova fortress, the castle and cave Kaleto. Should one wishes to find out more about the historic heritage, they should consider the product ‘’An insight into the antique past of Smolyan’. Tourists will also have the opportunity to get acquainted with Rhodopes songs and traditional crafts.
