Signs inform about the conditions at Bulgarian beaches

This tourism season signs will be out at all beaches so that tourists can receive information about their current condition. It is mandatory to have written whether the beach is polluted or not. Beaches in Bulgaria will be categorized in the next couple of years and a particular number of stars will be assigned to each of them. Three star beaches will those that have the perfect water and one start will receive all beaches that meet satisfactory criteria. Those are the latest European requirements.
All ongoing audits of Bulgarian beaches show that they are not polluted.
The latest report by EU that outlines the quality of waters, suitable for swimming, also points out that 97% of Bulgaria’s beaches meet the primary criteria and 50% conform to the recommended requirements.
