Bulgaria has cemented its reputation as a primary ski destination in Europe which offers good value for money. Even though Bulgaria is not not the first choice of most people when it comes to skiing, it is one of the most beloved and cheapest ski destinations for skiing. However, Bulgaria has a couple of wonderful ski resorts where one can enjoy winter sports and recreation in winter.

For first class skiing, some people opt for Bansko ski resort, but today the focus of our travel report is the sunniest ski resort in Bulgaria, namely Pamporovo. I have visited Pamporovo ski resort for New Year’s Eve in order to catch a bit of the festive season, the peculiar charm that this winter resort has around Christmas and New Year, as well as see how locals and guests of Pamporovo celebrate the beginning of 2012. Frankly speaking, Pamporovo is a unique winter resort that one will find fascinating due to the remarkable scenery of the snow-capped pine forests that dot the whole resort.

Skiing in Pamporovo is the experience that you will always forever. As you can see Pamporovo was packed with snow and conditions for skiing are wonderful. Even though I am not a skier /this is next year’s resolution, though/, it is exciting to be with skiers and snowboarders who love the freedom to float on the white, fluffy snow. I walked on the ski tracks to catch a glimpse of the most picturesque winter sceneries in the mountain, but obviously being quick and flexible on the ski give you the opportunity to unfold the beauty of the mountain that embraced the cold snap of the winter.

Pamporovo is indeed a sunny resort where the snow-capped peaks are washed in caressing sunrays. Wow, it is impossible to experience such a feeling somewhere else- happy people, skiers, kids, ski newbie like me, surpassing beauty of the mountain, sunny weather, positive emotions, that is what I call a ski holiday of the dreams. Well, if you are not a skier, you can take the lift to Snezhanka tower or Smolyanski Lakes in order to indulge yourself in some of the most impressive landscapes that you have ever seen. Pamporovo is full of great hotels, restaurants, lively après-ski bars, but you cannot miss breathtaking sceneries, especially in the late afternoon when the sunset goes to sing his night song with the snowcapped mountains. Different colours of the sun rays are playing the mountain peaks while exhausted skiers go to the centre of Pamporovo to relax and recharge their batteries for the next day skiing to the fullest. If you like winter sports and also extreme activities, you definitely know what living the real life means. Live as you want, wherever you want and do everything as if it’s the last day of the rest of your life...
