Sozopol strategy 2009 is related to the search of possible ways to attract a great number of wealthy tourists. In brief, the main goal of the popular Bulgarian seaside town is to turn itself into a destination for rich people. In addition, Municipality Sozopol has planned to take part in six international tourism expos in 2009 and it will represent all of its future projects. This month Sozopol summer resorttook part in a tourism exhibition in Israel where luxurious complexes, Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage, tempting casinos and other popular kinds of entertainment were presented. After gambling restrictions were applied in Israel, Turkey, Cyprus, Syria and Lebanon, the predominant part of tourists from Israel set off for Bulgaria, especially Sunny Beach and Golden Sands coastal resorts, in order to attend casinos and gambling places. At the moment, there are 4-5 casinos and gambling places in Sozopol , but a recent research showed that in accordance with the investors’ interest many luxurious complexes will be opened in the near future. Sozopol coastal resortwill be actively promoted in Russia, Romania and Kazakhstan this year. Besides its advertising campaign, Sozopol is planned to be turned into an attractive golf destination this year. The future golf complexes might be provided with a small airport with 1800m long track, spacious enough for the operation of small airplanes. The construction of a unique attraction park, which will be occupy the area between Sozopol-Bourgas road and the bay next to “Gradina” camping, was also included in the municipality’s strategy.
