The 40th anniversary of the folklore holidays “From Timok to Iskar”

The traditional folklore holidays in Belogradchik “From Timok to Iskar” have 40 years jubilee this year. The municipality of Belogradchik changed the name of the holidays, as from this year on it is “From Timok to Iskar-following the steps of the Thracians”.
The event will be held from 12th until 14th of September in the summer theatre “Gabite” in the town of Belogradchik. The first day is defined as a Day of Thracians, because ancient beliefs, rites, music and Thracians’ poetry will be represented.
The Municipality of Belogradchik has won the national project “Thracian spirit-excellent tourist destination” in 2008.
The Municipality will take part with this project in the European competition for its being financed on the 18th of September in France.
