The rural tourism in Bulgaria gains momentum

The association of the Bulgarian village reported that the demand of summer holidays in the rural regions has been increased by 20%. In fact, the figures showed that there has been a steady 100% growth of the rural houses accommodation during the summer vacation in the recent years. The demand of such rural holidays exceeds twice the supply.
People who prefer spending their summer holiday in the rural regions usually stay five days in a row. As it comes to weekend visits, they became tradition a long time ago .
Families with small kids usually look for renting a whole house and the major requirement is that safeguarded kids zones are constructed. Therefore, owners have built wonderful zones for kids as in most cases only natural materials are used.
Foreign groups usually come to take a short tour of the village and see all architectural reserves or just have a lunch while enjoy a rich folklore program.
The most popular places which are suitable for rural tourism are fully booked 2 months in advance, especially before holidays such as Christmas and New Year. The most developed rural regions are the Central Balkan Mountain /Stara Planina/, the Rhodopes and the Pirin Mountain.
People usually opt for rural regions which are close to historical monuments, monasteries, dam lakes and centres of folklore festivals.
