Tourism VAT Leveled at 9%

All hotel services will be levied with joint VAT stake of 9%, reads the amendments to VAT Act that was passed at first reading in Parliament. So far night-stays with breakfast were taxed 7% and the other hotel services 20%. The new VAT stakes will not come into force before April 1, 2011, to spare the possible damage to the winter season. The Bulgarian fisc will neither benefit, nor lose from the new VAT stakes, emerged from Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister of Finance, Vladislav Goranov.
