Tourists are likely to get lost in Pamporovo resort

The mayor of Chepelare resort has expressed his opinion that the infrastructure of Pamporovo ski resort may turn out a hindrance for tourists during ski season 2010/2011. He pointed out that information boards, info terminals like the one in picturesque resort of Chepelare, need to be installed in order for tourists to easily orientate themselves in the chaos of hotels in the sunniest ski resort in Bulgaria, Pamporovo.

Due to the changed appearance of Pamporovo and the multitude of new buildings, even patrons have difficulty in finding their hotel in the mountainous resort. The mayor of Chepelare declared that even he is not familiar with all hotels in the resort and respectively the tourist hardly has the chance to find what they are looking for. In this sense, Chepelare municipality proposed the services of ‘Infotour Centre’ which will make more distinguishable all hotels and thus facilitate tourist’s holiday experience. For this purpose, however, hotel owners in Pamporovo need to pay attention to these services and agree to participate in new tourist information system. Also, information boards need to be properly installed as they would serve as advertisements and give directions to all visitors. They will be constructed in accordance with European standards.

New parking is built at ski centre ‘Mechi Chal’

Multifunctional parking with 500 places will be constructed at the lift station of ski centre ‘Mechi Chal’, announced Mr. Popov, the mayor of Chepelare. Currently, the project is frozen, because all owners of the area should divide the plot. The major reason for the new parking is to facilitate those tourists who usually waste too much time to find a parking lot in Pamporovo. Moreover, last year’s figures showed that many holidaymakers visit Pamporovo either for a short break or weekend getaway in the mountain.

A pleasant surprise for the new winter season will be the new route for those fond of mountain biking tourism. The route will be an exciting experience for extreme sports fans. It is expected that the new mountain biking route can even surpass the one in Borovets ski resort.

Good news is that a new complex with a restaurant and a cafe is built at the upper lift station. The introduction of the complex is especially made for the upcoming ski season 2010/2011. There are two new routes which link the existing ski tracks. Also, ski tracks are being recultivated for the new winter season.
