Turgovishte to develop the cultural and historical tourism

The project on which Targovishte will start to work on is named as “European Perspectives for development and cultural and historical tourism in Turgovishte Municipality”.
The project will be a result of the teamwork of the municipality of Targovishte and the Portugese municipality Santa Maria da Feira. The project is estimated at 220 000 BGN and its duration is fourteen months.
The aim of the project is to develop the tourism and strengthen the position of Targovishte Municiplaity as an attractive tourism destination. This can be only done through a serious research and sharing the experience of the Portuguese Municipality Santa Maria da Feira. Besides attractive tourism products in the field of cultural, historical and event tourism will be created and marketed.
The attitudes and the expectations of the local residents for the development in that field will be examined and the tendencies in the development of cultural, historical and event tourism in Targovishte municipality will be analyzed.
Representatives from Targovishte will join a training course for the creation of a competitive overall tourist project as well as marketing campaigns. They will also visit the municipality Santa Maria da Feira.
