Anita Valentinova, source : horemag.bg, 22.06.2009

New information and interactive boards have been installed to promote the new eco routes named Friends and The way of the Ant. The official opening of new eco paths is due to take place in a short time. Specially trained guides will help tourists explore new theme eco paths in a specific curious way as entertainments, interesting tasks and special techniques for interpretation will be put into practice so that tourists will manage to extract the information on their own. Everywhere along the route attractive information boards have been installed to help guides fulfill their important tasks. However, those visitors who are unable to hire a guide or prefer to commence the trekking themselves will be provided with detailed brochures.

“The Way of the Ant” starts from the chalet Kongur where the entrance board for the route is situated. The total length of the path is 3,6 km and the walk lasts one hour and 20 minutes. Following the black route to the hut, tourists will be able to be carried into a unique micro world full with interesting facts, the world of ants.

The path “Friends” starts from the chalet Belasitsa and leads to the picturesque Leshnishki waterfall. Following the blue marking tourists will be able to touch to the unknown and unique world of our friends, the trees. The duration of the route is one hour and 40 minutes and it is long 3,6km.

Other 11 information boards for all tourist routes in the mountain will be installed in Petrich, mountainous villages and in front of the two huts. Thus, the theme routes in the newest nature park come to four as Belasitsa has two thematic eco paths. All initiatives are part of the project for the preservation of the world important biodiversity of Belasitsa through the development of eco tourism in the region. See source here
