Unique glass bridge will lead tourists to Tsarevets

A unique glass bridge will take tourists to the historic Tsarevets hill. The extraordinary facility will be made of incredibly strong material and thus it will be able to withstand the passing of heavy vehicles. It became clear that the project for the construction has been already ready. The attractive bridge will be illuminated during the night in quite an impressive way. Tourists may step onto the glass surface so that they will be able to see the deep abyss which separated the fortress from the other parts of the Veliko Turnovo city. In fact, the new facility is planned to be constructed so as to resemble the bridge in the Austrian city Grats. Veliko Turnovo city is working actively on another project in the tourism sector. Towers on the Trapezitsa hill will be reconstructed on the basis of a Vatican drawing. For their restoration, other authentic documents and images of Manasieva Chronicle will be used as well. A copy of the original parchment manuscript, believed to date back to 7 centuries ago, was sent for the construction of the remarkable churches. There scenes of the funeral of Ivan Assen, the son of the Bulgarian king Ivan Alexander, were depicted. He is presented at the background of the buildings on the hills Tsarevets and Trapesitsa. After a number of researches, archaeologists have already clarified the exact position of the towers on the fortress and the height of the walls.

Manasieva Chronicle is Bulgarian medieval written monument, translated from the World Chronicle of the Byzantine writer Konstantin Manasii. The original text is in rhymes and it consists of 6733 verses. It tells the story of events from the creation of the world to the beginning of the period of the Byzantine Emperor Alexander I Komnin (1081-1118).
