Anita Valentinova, source: infotourism.net, 16.05.2009

The museum of Thracian arts in Alexandrovo presented for the first time a collection of precious finds. The collection includes a gold treasure dating back to the fourth and fifth millennia BC, three necklaces, made of sea-shells and a silver necklace dating back to Bronze Age (2900 years BC). The treasure is unique of its kind, but it is similar to the one discovered in the Varna necropolis. The precious findings were presented on the 14th of May. The deputy mayor of Haskovo Tatyana Dimitrova, the renowned archaeologist Nikolay Ovcharov and the director of Regional History museum in Haskovo NikolayKolev attended the event. Thracian Arts museum was officially opened on the 15th of May. Bulgaria’s President Georgi Purvanov, as well as official guests from Japan attended the official opening of the museum.
