The beautiful and plentiful Balkania Region opened officially the summer season on Sunday, June 6th, 2010. A fiesta with great music, fireworks, а lottery and many dances gave the official start of the summer season in Balkania tourist region. Many guests from the country and abroad arrived for this festive event in Troyan. Hotels in the region of Balkania will reduce their prices by 20%-30% for the summer season.
Balkania is one of the most well organized tourist regions in Bulgaria and it encompasses several municipalities of the Balkan range, including thw towns of Troyan, Apriltsi, Teteven, Etropole and Elena. Local hotel owners and tour operators promise lower prices and many extra services in the summer of 2010. In this way, they hope to draw more tourists this summer despite the economic crisis and attractive deals for a seaside vacation. Hotel owners and private guesthouses show flexibility, willingness to provide free extras, because they have taken into account the consequences of the economic crisis and respectively the available funds of their clients.
Tour Club ReMark, an association of local entrepreneurs, have developed a strategy for the summer season in order to offer attractive prices, outstanding value and, of course, free extras. Municipality of Troyan disposes of 250 hotels and guesthouses, 200 dining places, entertainment and many eco trails. Moreover, the municipality has absorbed 13 million EUR for its development. Balkania region is particularly suitable for the admirers of nature, sports enthusiasts and people who appreciate tranquil atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. It is expected that French tourists will visit Troyan with their trailers in July. Therefore, Troyan is a venue for various types of tourism and it has hidden potential to develop rural and alternative tourism. Motocross track is located near Troyan and it hosts a tournament of World Motorcycling Championship.
If you come across an offer for a holiday in Balkania region and the price is higher than expected, this means that it includes the free use of the mineral water pool. Moreover, some deals also provide free-of-charge spa treatments. Balkania region offers various options for strolls, eco tourism and ways of entertainment in summer! It is a great place to visit if you prefer a quiet retreat in nature, healthy way of living and environment-friendly vacation! Tourists who come to Balkan region will be able to explore the new routes in the mountain or go for a picnic at the river banks. It is important to know that resort villages of Chiflik and Shipkovo offer pools with mineral water and therefore they are great options for wellness tourism this summer. Tourists may also use the routes for off-road adventures with all-terrain vehicles that could be hired at many places.
The Balkania region is well known to the admirers of adventures, sports enthusiasts and ecotourism. Horse riding, archery, hunting, SPA, visiting local monasteries and ethnographic museums, climbing, and fishing are only part of the diverse tourist product of Balkania.
