hotel overview:
Mountain Paradise is a stunning four star development situated in the picturesque town of Bansko, Bulgaria’s leading ski resort and Europe’s most up and coming low cost ski destination.
With excellent ski facilities and slopes, lower cost of living, cheaper ski passes and high quality ski equipment, Bansko is set to become a serious contender to the better known ski destinations throughout Europe.
This charming town is located at the foot of the Pirin Mountains. It is full of character reflected in its traditional 16th century architecture and cobblestone streets. Bansko contains many Mehanas (traditional bulgarian taverns), hotel restaurants and street cafés which serve traditional Bulgarian cuisine.
What guests appreciate most
Among the main advantages of Mountain Paradise by the Walnut Tree are its convenient position a few hundred metres from the gondola, spacious apartment-style accommodation and a useful range of basic spa facilities. The complex offers an indoor swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, steam bath, fitness facilities and massage services. Guests appreciate the apartment format, mountain views from some units and relatively easy walking access to the ski area. An on-site restaurant, complimentary Wi-Fi and parking add further practical value.
What guests most often complain about
Current public feedback is relatively mixed. Reviews mention inconsistent maintenance and differences in the quality of individual apartments, which is particularly relevant in a property where units may be furnished individually. Some interiors can feel dated, while the spa area is functional rather than luxurious. Service and overall value for money also receive more moderate ratings in the longer-term public feedback. During busy winter periods, the swimming pool and wellness facilities can become more crowded.
Who is this hotel suitable for?
Mountain Paradise by the Walnut Tree is suitable for families, couples, groups of friends and skiers looking for apartment-style accommodation close to the gondola with a swimming pool and basic spa facilities. It also suits travellers who value space and practicality more than completely contemporary hotel interiors.
Our recommendation
We recommend Mountain Paradise by the Walnut Tree to travellers for whom proximity to the ski area, spacious accommodation and access to a pool and wellness facilities are the main priorities. Because individual apartments may vary, guests should review the photos and equipment of the exact unit before booking and confirm the current condition of the spa area and which facilities are included in the rate.
Location:
view the mapThe 4* Mountain Paradise by the Walnut Trees hotel is arguably one of the best in Bansko as it combines an excellent location (5 minute walk to the Gondola and a similar distance to the centre of town) with great facilities. It is also the only hotel in Bansko with a large garden.

I've been to Bansko 3 times and to Sofia Twice and this is by far the worst hotel I stayed in. Bare in mind that I always look for the budget friendly hotels. Staff was so unprofessional, like they were forced to work there, not payed. Room was small ...
