hotel overview:
The luxury 4* VIHREN PALACE offering all season relaxation and entertainment opportunities for your unforgettable vacation in Bansko - the world famous Bulgarian ski resort.
What guests appreciate most
The strongest advantage of Vihren Royal Palace is its excellent position only around 80 metres from the base station of the gondola. This makes it particularly convenient for skiers and travellers who want to stay close to Bansko's main tourist area. The hotel offers an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, fitness facilities, a Relax Center and a restaurant, while part of the accommodation and common areas were renovated in 2024. Recent positive feedback highlights spacious and comfortable rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast and dinner, a pleasant spa area and reasonable value for money.
What guests most often complain about
Public feedback indicates some inconsistency between individual rooms and different periods of stay. More recent criticism includes problems with hot-water temperature or pressure, heating, minor technical faults and slow response to maintenance requests. There are also isolated comments about staff attitude and organisation during periods of high occupancy. As the hotel contains different sections and not all accommodation was renovated at the same time, condition can vary according to the exact room or apartment category.
Who is this hotel suitable for?
Vihren Royal Palace is particularly suitable for skiers, couples, families and groups of friends for whom immediate proximity to the gondola is a major priority. It also suits travellers who want to combine an active winter holiday with a swimming pool and basic spa facilities without relying on daily transport to the ski area.
Our recommendation
We recommend Vihren Royal Palace primarily for its excellent position beside the gondola and its useful combination of hotel and spa facilities. The 2024 refurbishment is a positive factor, although reviews suggest that quality is not completely uniform across all accommodation. Before booking, guests should confirm the exact building and room category, current photos, heating arrangements, included meal plan and current Relax Center operating hours.
Location:
view the mapThe complex Vihren Palace is uniquely located - it is only 80 m away from the main ski lift /Gondola/, and just 4 minutes away from the old town center. It offers its guests coziness and high standard services. Its perfect location makes it the best place for your winter and summer vacation.

Overall my stay was okay and could’ve been really great. The location is convenient, the staff were genuinely kind and spoke good English, and the spa facilities were clean and enjoyable. The big issue was that there was no hot water for a shower, which ...
