Hotels to Face Court for Violated Consumer Rights

Bulgaria's Commission for trade and consumers protection is ready to sue hotel owners along the Black Sea that have violated their guests' consumer rights. Hotel owners and lodging landlords would face the court if they offered poor quality services to their clients, Commission head Damyan Lazarov said Wednesday in Burgas. There would be at least one trial in every municipality where violations have been detected, Lazarov said during the sixth annual tourist expo "Your Holiday". This is a repressive measure, Lazarov explained, and said that the Commission will seek the help of tourists who were left unsatisfied with the services or felt deceived. By the beginning of the summer tourist season most of the bigger hotels and tour operator offices will have a consumers' corner, Lazov said. There visitors would be able to lodge their complaints.
