Bulgaria Awarded at Int'l Tourism Expo

Bulgaria's Tourism Agency received the statuette for "The Best Foreign Presentation" at the Ukraine International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (UITT) in Kiev. The Balkan country was presented with a national counter of about 100 sq.m., which included 17 Bulgarian companies. Ukraine is seen a major market for the Bulgarian tourism product. UITT opened its doors to its biggest ever event on the March 30 to end April 2. The 11th edition of UITT, hosted some 750 international and local companies from 40 countries and regions. UITT is recognised as the leading travel and tourism exhibition in Ukraine and attracts key international travel industry players looking to promote their products and increase their presence in the Ukrainian market. This year, international space sold at UITT has increased by an impressive 20% compared to the 2004 edition. Established exhibitors include national tourist boards from Austria, Bulgaria, Catalunya, Croatia, Cyprus, Dubai, Egypt, Hungary, India, France, Malta, Cuba, Switzerland, Thailand and Tunisia, Montenegro. Tunisia National Tourist Board and India Tourism have doubled their space and the Bulgaria Tourist Authority and Switzerland Tourism has significantly increased its participation. UITT is supported by the World Tourism Organisation (WTO), Pacific Asia Tourism Association (PATA) and is also member of the European Travel Trade Fairs Association (ETTFA). see source
