Polish tour operators plan increasing the number of tourist visits to Bulgaria.
Some of Poland's largest tour operators, including Itaka, Ecco Holiday, Open Travel Group, Adriatyk, Selva Travel and Alfa Star plan to introduce changes increasing the Polish tourist flow to Bulgaria, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
Market tendencies reveal that Polish tourists show increasing interest in more luxurious tourism products and hotels offering high-quality services, the Bulgarian State Agency for Tourism (SAT) said.
Over 25 Polish tour operators offer trips to Bulgaria and the number of tourists has been increasing steadily over the past five years.
According to ministry statistics, in 2005 over 113 000 Polish tourists visited the country, registering a 4.37 per cent increase compared to visits for 2004.
SAT has invited Polish journalists from the national media to discuss opportunities for coastal, cultural and mountain tourism in Bulgaria. The journalists will be in the country until June 29 and will visit Bulgaria's leading sea and mountain resorts and some cultural tourism destinations like Plovdiv, Veiko Turnovo, Tryavna and Kazanluk.
