Anita Valentinova, source : journey.bg, 28.04.2010

The golden mask of the Thracian king Teres and the helmet of Sevt III are a part of the exposition which Bulgaria will put on display during World Expo in Shanghai. It is due to begin on 1st of May 2010 and International Fair Plovdiv organizes Bulgaria’s participation. It is expected that 70 million visitors will visit the expo for 6 months. The new theme of the expo is ‘Better city, better life’.

12 cultural themes will come back to life at Bulgaria’s exhibition in order to depict how Bulgarian city has developed during different cultural periods. Tourists will enjoy virtual tour which will show traditions and historic heritage of Bulgaria from Antiquity till the present day.

The majesty of Thracians will be presented by findings from the Valley of Thracian Kings-golden wreath, golden glass and other exhibits from the museum in Kazanluk. Mosaics from villa Arimira and the frieze of the gods from the ancient Philippolis are some of the remains from Roman Empire on Bulgaria’s lands. Replicas of ancient monuments have been created in order to keep the genuine originals.

The atmosphere of Revival period is depicted by the miniature model of the Lyutova House in Bulgaria’s town of Koprivshitsa, which is considered a masterpiece of the National architecture, as well as through unique items typical of Bulgaria’s everyday life from the period in question.
