21st Days of Japan culture in Bulgaria

Anita Valentinova, source: nextbgtrip.com, 08.10.2010

‘’Nearly 11 000 Japanese visit Bulgaria every year. The same number of tourists used to visit Croatia a couple of years ago. However, today their number exceeds 160 000 people. If Bulgaria wants to attract Japanese tourists, the state has to promote actively all opportunities as Croatia does so. You should decide whether the country is associated with mass tourism, holidaymakers who seek cheap vacations or travellers who are ready to pay more in order to tour of the cultural landmarks in this small, but beautiful country. This was summarized by the Ambassador of Japan in Bulgaria. He has presented the program for the upcoming Days of Japanese Culture in Bulgaria.

The motto of the 21st Days of Japanese Culture is ‘’Harmony between traditions and modernity’. 11 Cultural events will be take place in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna from 14th of October until 23rd of December 2010. ‘’I am confident that there are many common characteristics between Japan and Bulgaria. These nations show respect to other people, they possess a heart which is dedicated to the beautiful nature and most importantly they have a soul which keeps and respects traditions, as well as the authentic culture. The mutual knowledge of customs and especially cultural achievements, the sense of respect and comprehension are the obligatory elements that establish relationships and create mutual trust and cooperation’’, added the Ambassador.
