Bulgarian SPA hotels are full despite severe winter conditions

The severe winter conditions in Bulgaria have not prevented tourists from cancelling bookings.
The hotels in the southern town of Velingrad are full; so are the ones in the towns of Sandanski, Hisarya, Zlatograd and Veliko Tarnovo.
The people who prefer winter tourism are usually between 20 and 45 years of age. They ski and prefer SPA centers and balneology.
That is why the hotels in the towns of Velingrad, Devin and Sandanski are among the most visited ones.
Bulgarians also start paying attention to recreation and relaxation and they have found a nice place in Bulgarian SPA centers. That is why this year the town of Velingrad is a national and Balkan champion.
This affects other towns as well. For example, the municipality of Varna has allotted more than BGN 500,000 for advertising solely, which is an effective way to tackle the crisis – by increasing the funds for advertising because it was our weakness. We relied on state funds solely and now municipalities take the initiative alone, Blagoy Ragin said.
Bulgaria has several SPA centers – of Velingrad, Devin, Sandanski, Hisarya, Pomorie and Kyustendil.
In the EU Bulgaria rates second in terms of mineral springs.
