Hotel Owners Declare War on Police
Standart Daily, 06.04.2005
Hotel owners at the seaside have declared war on the police. They say that they are ready to engage in fights with the police if they have to, but they will not leave their hotels under construction unfinished. The warning came yesterday from owners of unfinished buildings in the resort of Slunchev Bryag (Sunny Beach). Earlier this week, Nessebur mayor Nikolai Trifonov announced that all construction work in Slucnhev Bryag is to be suspended as of May 15. Eleven hotels are currently under construction in the resort. They must be finished before the start of the high season at any cost, because their rooms have already been booked and paid for. If the unfinished construction work is suspended on May 15, the owners are doomed to bankruptcy, as they will have to pay large amounts of compensation to foreign tour operators. see source
