More British Tourists to Visit Bulgaria's Summer Resorts

The tourism company TUI UK expects twice more British tourists to visit the Bulgarian Black Sea resorts this summer. TUI will bring to Bulgaria nearly 70 000 British tourists, according to initial estimations. In comparison, their number last year remained below 33 000, Dnevnik newspaper reported. The British tourists using the services of TUI arrive through its daughter companies Thomson and Portland Holidays Direct. Starting this summer air carrier Thomsonfly will perform flights to the Varna and Bourgas Airports. The company is also part of the TUI group. The website of the carrier already offers the flight schedule. Portland Holidays Direct will sell tourism packages with accommodation in eight Bulgarian hotels. The British tourism market is the second most important for Bulgaria after the German. Other British tourism companies, however, registered a decrease in the interest toward vacations in Bulgaria. First Choice company noted a decrease of 20 per cent until the beginning of March. One of the explanations for the negative development is that most British tourists are waiting for the cheaper last minute offers. Most of these packages are offered in July and August.
